This is a great #sensory #baking #activity for getting little hands sticky and involved in the kitchen. Enough to hold a toddler's attention for 15 minutes, with nutritional outcomes and #freefrom the #top14allergens.
50g porridge oats 50g oat flour or any type of flour will work 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp sea salt 65g unsalted butter 40g brown sugar 1 tbsp golden syrup 2 tbl mincemeat 2 tbl desiccated coconut Method
Melt butter (or just mix softened butter with sugar), then add the sugar and golden syrup. Once mixed add all the dry ingredients. Stir in the dessicated coconut and micemeat. If your mixture is too wet, stir in 30-40gr more oats. Chill mixture in the fridge for about 20 mins. Roll each biscuit in a ball and flattened to about 4cm on the tray. Pop back in the fridge while pre-heating the oven to 160c fan and bake for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown, you should make around 12 from this batch.
